The 2023 GBS Scholarship Application is open! The deadline for submitting your application is Sunday, April 16, 2023 at midnight! Scholarships will be awarded at the Honors and Awards Assembly on Thursday, May 18. Please see your email for more details or stop in the SAO or College and Career Center for questions.

GBS to Administer State-Required Tests on April 12 & 13
|
GBS will be administering state-required tests to freshmen, sophomores, and juniors on April 12 and April 13, 2023.
On Wednesday, April 12, juniors will take the SAT with essay, and freshmen will take the PSAT 8/9. On Thursday, April 13, juniors will take the Illinois Science Assessment, and sophomores will take the PSAT 10. Junior must bring their school-issued chromebooks, fully charged, to school this day for testing.
Students not taking the tests, including all seniors, should not come to school until extracurriculars start in the afternoon. Bus routes will be running for students, and the cafeteria will be open for breakfast and grab-and-go light meals.

Glenbrook Special Education Parent Association to host event on 'Preparing for the Future'

The Glenbrook Special Education Parent Association will host "Preparing for the Future: Action Steps for Parents of Students' with an IEP."
Glenbrook staff, including Ron Gatchalian, GBN Transition Coordinator, Jackie Glasebrook, Transition Teacher, Kate Locke, TrueNorth Transition Coordinator and Julie Smith, GBS Transition Specialist, will provide valuable insights and critical action steps to ensure a smooth transition for students with IEPs.
Participants will learn how to connect with the community to support successful outcomes and their school's part in the transition process. This event is a fantastic way to meet other families going through comparable experiences, receive insightful information, and connect with others.
Take advantage of this opportunity to prepare how to set a student for success after high school.

Parent Volunteers Needed for Outdoor Classroom Cleanup

The GBS Outdoor Classroom and Pollinator Garden are in need of volunteers to assist in cleanup this Earth Day. Please consider joining the Parents Association to help on April 20, 2023, from 3:30-5:30 p.m.

The GBS Model UN team is hosting a trivia night that is open to all Glenbrook South students, families, and teachers/staff. The fun evening supports future travel costs and pays for conference supplies. The event features general trivia so team members do not have to be experts in international relations or world diplomacy.
Teams of three to six individuals are encouraged to register as soon as possible since space is limited. The suggested donation of $10 per person will be collected at the door.
